About ARRICA
As a Muslim convert it was a struggle for me personally being in the fashion industry. As my faith grew stronger I was torn on my practices and what my business represented. I worked with a lot of young girls and their idea of beauty was really aesthetic and had nothing to do with who they were. This really didn't sit well with me. This was the first pivot I made with my business; focussing on the inner beauty with my clients versus the outer.
I now focus more on a frugal lifestyle now. As a mama of two- Experiencing Motherhood at such a young age taught me that some of our greatest triumphs come through tragedy, learning this has been my passion to empower and support not only females but mamas specifically and those less fortunate.
Trying to live as holistic and green as possible, pouring the same ethics and religious practices into my business. The carbon foot is huge and the fashion industry contributes far too much that. I want to be apart of the solution not the problem. I was fortunate to turn my creative passions into a business designing modest wear from recycled textiles while being a stylist for busy mamas, entrepreneurs, corporate executives and other local retail brands. As an American female, Latin Muslim Mom and Business woman, I want to shine a light on what society says the “average Muslim woman” should be.
